Nkumbu Kabaso Sinyangwe
Ba Nkumbu — carpenter, choirmaster, and the last man in Kabwe who could tune a piano by ear
7 June 1938 — 2 September 2026
Our father slept on Wednesday, the second of September, at home in Kabwe, aged eighty-eight.
He built the pews at St Peter’s with his own hands and then sat in the front one for fifty years. The children of Sinyangwe ask you to come, not in grief but in thanksgiving, to sing him home.

A few notes
On flowers
Bring none. He asked instead that the workshop fund be filled, so the boys he trained can buy their own tools.
On tributes
Three minutes each. Send word to Chola before the fifteenth if you would like to speak, and she will find you a place in the order.
On the day
Come with your children and your appetite. There is shade in the compound, and the drumming will not stop until the last plate is cleared.
The workshop fund
A plane, a chisel, a saw — and one more apprentice who can feed himself.
Kindly reply
Send us your name and we will keep a chair, a plate, and a place in the singing.
Coaches leave the church for the Kasanda Road cemetery at half past twelve. Ask Chola for a seat on 0966 447 190.
